About Us
Brief History
Voice of Salvation and Healing Church (VOSH) traces its origins to 1956, when it was founded by Archbishop Dr. Silas Owiti together with a group of Christian leaders who were part of the East African Pentecostal revival movement of the 1950s. The ministry was established to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, lead people to salvation, and minister healing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The movement was initially registered under a different name. In 1964, it officially adopted the name Voice of Salvation and Healing Church (VOSH), under which it has continued to grow and establish congregations across East Africa.
Today, VOSH has an active presence in Uganda, where it continues its mission of preaching the full Gospel, making disciples, equipping church leaders, and serving communities through evangelism, prayer, worship, and compassionate ministry. The church's vision is "A people transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit," while its mission is "To be a prophetic voice proclaiming the full Gospel of Jesus Christ; disciple, equip and commission saints to serve across the world."
